BJP MLA starts scavenge drive in Ambala as sanitation workers continue strike

Ambala City BJP MLA Aseem Goel alongwith his supporters started a drive to scavenge the streets which were littered with garbage in the wake of strike by the sanitation workers that entered 9th day today. Although the government has accepted the demands of the employees after talks held with Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on return from his foreign tour. The striking workers continued their strike and did not return to work despite their demands were accepted. The Union leaders, however, said that they had not withdrawn their strike and it would continue till the government accepted their demands and started its implementation.

Meanwhile, MLA Aseem Goel continued his cleanliness drive and removed garbage from worst affected areas with his supporters. The drive continued for several hours and the garbage was removed. He said that he had started removing garbage from the spots where condition of sanitation was bad and feared spread of epidemics. He appealed to the sanitation workers to return to work after their demands were accepted. UNI XC DB SY 1959
