Sensex opens higher up by 96 pts

Snapping a negative trend of last two sessions, the BSE sensex on Thursday opened higher by 96 points to 35,483.62 as fresh buying witnessed in select indices like Power, Realty,Capital Goods and Consumer Durable.

The Nifty of National Stocks Exchange (NSE) too rose by 34 points to 10,775.60.

The sensex registered intra day high and low at 35,510.01 and 35,278.61 points respectively. The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 10,777.25 and 10,699.90 respectively.

At the momenet, the sensex was declining by 104.41 points to 35,283.43 as selling was witnessed in Energy, FMCG, IT and Bankex. Even Nifty too easing by 40.80 points to 10,700.30. The gainers were Sun Pharma by 1.36 pc to Rs 478.25, Tata Motors by 1.34 pc to Rs 314.55, Coal India by 1.06 pc to Rs 267.50 and Hind Unilever by 0.86 pc to Rs 1587.70.

The losers were Tata Steel by 2.27 pc to Rs 607.90, HDFC by 1.39 pc to Rs 1888.20, Infosys by 1.21 pc to Rs 1175.70 and ITC by 1.08 pc to Rs 282.85.
