Retired clerk, his wife booked in corruption case in Nanded

The Nanded unit of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Whensday registered a case of corruption against a retired clerk of Forest department at Hadgaon in Nandeddistrict and his wife for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income during his service period.

Alleged accused Sriram Harichandra Panchal and his wife Kesar, whoat present stay in Nanded, are at large and ACB has launched amanhunt to nab them.

Talking to UNI, sources in ACB said that a complaint was lodged inthis regard with ACB against Panchal in 2015.

During the course of open inquiry, it was revealed that Panchal hadamassed assets worth Rs 77,71,971, which was 105.16 per cent morethan his known sources of income during the period of his servicefrom 1987 to 2015.

A case under sections 13(1)E, 13(2) of the Prevention of CorruptionAct and section 109 of Indian Penal Code was registered against bothof them with Bhagyanagar police station, sources added.
