Women, youth and students fronts belonging to Left Organisations on Monday staged protest outside Deputy Commissioner Office, protesting against 'cover up' of Unnao and Kathua rape incidents condemning the action of BJP ruled UP and J&K governments.
Protest was attended by the state general secretary of All India Democratic Woman Association (AIDWA), Ms Phalama Chuhan, Secretary of district unit of Democratic Youth Federation of India Mr Kapil Sharma and District secretary of SFI Mr Raman Thapta and large number of other activists.
Protesters were carrying paper cut out and banner against the both gruesome incidents blaming the Yogi Adiyatnath Government in UP for 'covering up' of Unnao rape case and Ms Mufiti led BJP -PDP government in J&K for Kathua incidents. Speakers alleged that eight yrs old was kidnapped, gang raped in a temple for many days and murdered by the Hindu outfits to unleash the bitterness against the minority Community.
The protesters condemned shelter, failed attempts to cover up and support the perpetrators by the two ministers of BJP-PDP government, subsequent move by the Bar Association of Kathua and use of National flags in support of heinous crime and move by the Pro right elements to stop the police and Lawyer of victims to present the charge-sheet in the court.
Protesters also condemned the BJP government for 'cover up' in UP and alleged support of rape suspect and MLA Kuldeep Singh Sanger and murder of victim's father in police custody. The organisations said that both incidents are not different from each other blaming the 'lawlessness' under BJP government in the centre and state allowing right outfits perpetrate crime and violence against the innocents.
Activists called up the people to join-in the protest against the communal forces, criminal elements belonging to rightest wing extremist groups creating rifts among the people in well planed move to polarised the people in the country. State Congress unit led by HPCC president Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also held candle light protest on Saturday condemning both the incidents.
