Four people, including a woman, died in an accident occurred in Lag valley of Kullu district on Monday afternoon when the car carrying them fell down in deep gorge in Bhatti village, 12 km from district headquarter.
Kullu SP Shalini Agnihotri said that a car carrying four people lost control and fell down 500 meter- deep gorge while negotiating on a sharp curve at 1530 hrs. Four persons including a woman died on the spot.
The impact of the accident was such high that it dismantled wreckage of car and bodies into pieces. Deceased were identified as Sarla Devi, Sohan Lal, Hari Singh and Tikkam Ram, all belonged to a village Pachahali village of Kullu.
Kullu Additional SP Nishchat Negi who visited the spot said that all bodies were retrieved from the spot and handed over to their relatives after the post mortem.
In another road mishap, a HRTC bus on Monday hit a car coming from opposite direction at Machoti on Kuthadi-Rohru road in Shimla district, injuring 21 people.
Police sources said that a HRTC bus on the way to Rohru from Kuthadi collided with a car and hit a rock after it went out of control. As many as 21 bus passengers sustained injuries however no loss of life has been reported sofar.
Police said that car passengers also sustained injuries who had been rushed to Rohru Civil Hospital. The police is probing the reason of the accident.
