In view of the increasing incidents of crime against women and girl child, the Delhi Government on Monday directed the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to ensure that forensic examination of such cases are completed within a month.

''Cases of crime against women, girl child and POSCO offences referred for forensic examination need to be attended urgently for earliest completion of prosecution," Delhi Home Minister Satyendar Jain stated in his letter addressed to Principal Secretary, Home and FSL Director.

Mr Jain also asked to ensure that such cases are given top priority and forensic examination is completed within a month, and a monthly report in this regard be submitted.

It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that he was worried about the safety of women in Delhi and vowed to amend IPC and CrPc in the next session of Delhi Assembly, to ensure death penalty of minor rapists.
