Telecom Minister Mr Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said India was moving towards its flagship Digital India Mission by adopting new technologies.
Terming 5G as one of the most important, emerging areas, he said the government has taken steps to set up a test bed for this technology and was also exploring avenues to collaborate with other nations to refine and adopt 5G. "We believe 5G Technologies will act as a catalyst in support of our mission of Digital India," he said while inaugurating the three-day Convergence India expo and conference and Internet of Things(IoT) event at Pragati Maidan here. Speaking on the occasion Mr Sinha said such events provide a unique platform for all stakeholders engaged in the increasingly overlapping fields of Telecom, IT,broadcast and digital media to gather, exchange and demonstrate ideas and information, share best practices, and learn from our collective experiences. Hosted by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and Exhibitions India Group (EIG), the expos support the Government's vision of transforming India into a digitally empowered economy.
