The first ever Uttar Pradesh Investor Summit started with a bang when renowned industrialists promise their presence in the state in a big way with assuring an investment to the tune of over Rs 1 lakh crores in next three to five years.
Lead by announcement made by Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani of investment of Rs 35,000 crores, followed by Kumar Mangalam Birla of the Aditya Biral group of Rs 25,000 crores, and Rs 20,000 crore investment by Gautam Adani of Adani group, the Industry leaders also committed to generate more jobs and take the state''s growth rate to a record high.
In the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other union ministers, the industrialists gave their address about their future plants for UP.
Mukesh Ambani was first to address the Summit,with appreciating the state chief minister Yogi Adityanath that he had never seen such a beautiful state capital on the occasion of the Investors Meet. "The dream of converting UP into a Uttam pradesh- sarvottam pradesh will come true. We will contribute towards it.Coming to UP is a patriotic sense for me. India can''t rise without UP''s growth story,'' he said. He said ,"I am happy to inform that JIO is largest investor in UP and I promise an investment of around Rs 35,000 crores in next three years in which Rs 20,000 crores have already been made by creating 40,000 jobs." Jio is serving 2 crore consumers in the state.
Mr Ambani also announced that all the UP villages would be connected with Jio by December,2018 and Jio will assist government from Rajdhani to village level. Besides one lakh people will be linked with livelihood opportunity and a new campus would commence at a state level university.
"JIO will invest another Rs10,000 crore over 3 years.Have made JIO phone virtually free and over 2 crore JIO phones will be made available in UP over next 2 years on priority. JIO will create I lakh direct and indirect jobs over next 3 years in UP," he said with announcing Reliance foundation commitment to Namami Ganga project.
Adani group chairman Gautam Adani said that India''s growth story can''t be separated from UP.
"Adani group will build grain stock storage for 3 lakh metric tonne . Besides Multi model logistic park, 1000 mw solar plant and 500 mw solar park along with 1000 MW of solar transmission lines.
Mr Adani said in next five years, the group will invest around Rs 20,000 crores in UP.
Mr Kumar Manglam Birla of the Aditya Birla group said that UP has two key features that will drive investment in the state. Firstly investor friendly government in state and large pool of Human resource .
" We will be investing Rs 25,000 crores in all our major business over next 5 years though we are the biggest investors in UP since 1950," he said with adding that they will go for expansion of Ultra Tec cement unit.
Mahendra group chairman Anand Mahendra, said it was his home return as his mother belong to the state as she was born in Allahabad and studied in Lucknow.
Mr Mahendra said UP-100 run by his company has achieved a good response and was serving the people of the state in a big way. " UP should not be compared with other states but with countries as it has so large number of potential," he said.
" I came here with a blessing from my mother and assured an electric vehicle manufacturing unit in the state," he announced with several other projects in Varanasi and other places.
N chandrashekran, chairman Tata sons in his address said that the company has consolidated presence in UP across sectors.
" Tata motors is present in big way while TCS has a very strong presence in UP," he said with announcing that the Lucknow TCS unit would be expanded.
New campus of 30000 capacity of TCS to be set up in the state very soon," he announced while an IT campus would be set up in BHU , Varanasi.
Mr Subhas Chandra of the Zee media said that MoUs worth Rs 18,700 crores have been signed with UP government.
The summit was also addressed by President CII and Executive Vice president of Apollo Hospitals Ms Sobhana Kamineni and President FICCI and chairman Edeluales Group Rashesh Shah.UNI MB ADG 1344
