Chengannur MLA passes away

K K Ramachandran Nair MLA representing Chenganuur Assembly seat (CPM) passed away after a prolonged illness at Chennai Apollo Hospital at 0400 hrs on Sunday.He was 64. He is survived by his wife and a son. Ramachandran Nair started his political career during his college days by actively participating in SFI activities.Though he contested in Assembly elections in 2001, he was defeated by Shobhana George of Indian National Congress by a margin of 1465 votes.However, he won the seat in 2016 by defeating PC Vishnunath of Indian National Congress by a margin of 7983 votes. The body will be brought to State Capital by flight today to offer last rest respect by the public, party workers and the members of the House.UNI DS AKC1624
