Known for playing variety of roles, Bollywood actor Kay Kay Menon says the script of 'Vodka Diaries' gave everything he was looking for.Talking to UNI, Kay Kay Menon, who was in the town to promote his upcoming movie, said,"the script of 'Vodka Diaries' gave everything I was looking for. And it also gave the scope of making it into a good cinema."Asked what does he looks for into the script, the actor said,"When you have a script which is complete in nature, then it becomes a novel. There is no need of making a film. Script is means to an end -- which is called cinema. The script has to have that kind of pulsating feeling about it that can be dying to made into a good film. So that's what I look out in the script."Talking about playing realistic roles on the screen, the actor said,''I find realism very boring. I am not much an admirer of realism. I prefer films and performances to be believable."The actor said realism is actually a myth. "When you are doing a film of about two hours and then the entire life span is shown, it's something called an edit. The main function of realism is real time. The idea is to make whatever you do believable on screen. And it has been my attempt throughout. So for me the story, the making and the piece of cinema has to be believable," the 'Baby' fame actor said."Even the science fiction has to be believable. Like 'Avatar' is believable. Because they make a world for you and then they don't break the logic. So that is what attracts me to play the role," Kay Kay Menon said. When asked how different was this role of playing ACP Ashwini Dixit in 'Vodka Diaries', the 51-year-old actor said, "this character is quite different as this movie is not just a murder mystery or a suspense thriller, it is a human story as well. Usually, when one watches a murder mystery, he or she is keen to guess the killer. But apart from this angle, this movie has a story which people will like to watch.''Kay Kay said it was a bit difficult while shooting in the cold studded areas like Manali. "The weather was too cold while shooting for the movie. In some shots I used to roam around in shirts because of my character in the movie. However, facing difficulties are part of actors' life. It was my work and I enjoyed it totally,'' he said.About showing his romantic trait in the movie, the actor said, "This is not the first time I am into a romantic zone. Yes for sure my way of handling romance is a bit different."'Vodka Diaries' is a thriller film set in contemporary Manali. The story revolves around a club called Vodka Diaries, where few murders have happened and ACP Ashwini Dixit is investigating them. The movie is directed by Ad film maker Kushal Srivastava under the banner of K'Scope Entertainment Pvt Ltd and Vishalraj Films & Production Pvt Ltd. The flick marks the debut of Kushal Srivastava as a director and it will hit the theatres on January 19.UNI PY/AR SNU 1109
