After having received a positive response from people in Mumbai and Hyderabad, St+art India Foundation, associated with the public art movement in the country, today announced that it would beautify public art during the ongoing Serendipity Arts Festival (SAF) 2017. In a statement here on Sunday, Hanif Kureshi, curator of St+art Goa, said, "Landscape of Panjim is very different from rest of the cities in India. St+art Goa is going to have various projects which will delve into the character of the city instead of just painting 'walls'. We have been very careful with the kind of content we are putting in public space. We hope to bring the art alive every year with the Serendipity Arts Festival." Amit Syngle, COO, Asian Paints Ltd, said, "Like every year, we yet again hope to add a bit of vibrance to the city and uplift the moods, spirits and lives of the people. We want to take art to the masses and make it accessible to a wider range of spectators. The idea is to open spaces to dialogues, conversations and culture creation through the lens of the city." Serendipity Arts Festival is a multidisciplinary event and a cultural experience in itself, bringing together visual, performing and culinary arts. Curated by a panel of artists and institutional figures, this second edition of Serendipity Arts Festival will feature over 70 art projects including 40 projects that are commissioned specifically for the festival. With muralists, graphic designer, painters, visual artists and cutout painters, St+art India Foundation aims to beckon Goa beyond its beaches and invites people to immerse themselves in installation and murals around Panaji, the statement said.UNI AKM 1918
