Police has arrested couple of Maoists sympathisers including a 'upmukhiya' for collecting levy for the JPC (Jharkhand Prastuti Committee), a splinter maoist outfit in the Palamu district and recovered arms and other items from their possession.
Addressing a press conference here today Palamu Sp Inderjeet Mahtha said the police had received a secret tip off regarding few people collecting levy in the name of JPC commander Vikrant Ji. A joint team of Daltonganj Town, Lesligunj and Satbarwa police stations conducted raids and arrested one Rang Bhadaur Singh from Rajhara. A gun was also recovered from his home. On the information provided by him the 'upmukhiya' of Rajhara panchayat Maoj Singh was arrested from whose possession a pistol, a mobile, uniforms and other items were recovered, the SP said adding that the duo have confessed to their crime.
