Youth Cong launches membership drive for upcoming internal election of DPYC

Delhi State Youth Congress (DPYC) on Wednesday launched its membership drive for upcoming internal election of DPYC in which future officer bearers will be elected by a democratic process.The membership process will be online as well as offline with a nominal fee of Rs 75 and Rs 125 respectively, while the deadline for submitting applications is set for November 28.The candidate has to be born between 1982 to December 31 1999 , to be eligible for the membership, while Aadhar card, Election i card or Driving license copy and the phone number is to be provided along with the form during application.In today's membership drive, IYC Secretary and Delhi Incharge Sitaram Lamba along with Rajpal Vist, Election Commission launched the membership drive and Sudhir Chaudhary, PRO, DPYC participated in the same. Due to urgent meeting in regard to Gujarat elections Amarinder Singh Raja couldn't attend the membership drive.In the election to the office bearers , there will be two reserved seats , which will include Kirari and Rohini , as they were finalised through a lucky draw system during the election meeting held at the IYC headquarters.''We aim to double the number of our members as compared to the figure in the last election'', said an IYC office bearer.This will be the second round of the said election inside the party to select the state president after 2012 , when Amit Malik was elected as the Delhi State prez, who later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, dumping the position.As per the rules, one active member will have to nominate four primary members . Then only he or she can fulfil the criteria for the membership which will entitle him or her to five votes , one for the Vidhan Sabha unit , two for district ( one for prez and one gen. secretary), while one for the President and Vice President for the state.The Pradesh committee will consist of a President , four Vice Presidents , 16 General Secretaries(including reserved), while the secretaries will be ones getting more than 42 votes.UNI APS/AR SHK 1925
