3 arrested for murder of BJP leader in Simdega

The district police has arrested three shooters in connection with the murder of local BJP leader Manoj Nagesia. Addressing a press conference today, Simdega SP Rajeev Ranjan said three accused have been arrested in this connection, who have been identified as Shital Kandulna (23), Loren Samad (23) and Anup Topno (20). The SP said the trio have confessed that the entire conspiracy to kill the BJP leader was hatched by PLFI area commander Vijay Dang alias Vijay Tiger. The SP said, Tiger was the one who provided these men with a 9 mm pistol and 12 bore country made katta. He said as per plan, it was decided that Nagesia would be killed either on the stage or while having dinner during the night of October 6. After firing upon the slain BJP leader, the four accused managed to flee, the SP said adding that the trio were arrested late last night. A loaded country made pistol, few live cartridges, couple of motorcycles, 9 mobile phones and pamphlets of the PLFi have been recovered from their possession. Manoj Nagesia was shot dead in the night of October 6 while he was having dinner during Ind Mela organised in Lachragarh under Kolibera Police Station area. Nagesia himself was a former zonal commander of the Maoists and joined the BJP after serving jail terms. He had contested the 2014 assembly election on the BJP ticket from Kolibera and was at the second position.UNI AK AKM
