Kejriwal reviews 'Chhath Puja' preparations

Ensuring that Chhath Puja preparations are robust in Delhi, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday reviewed the preparedness and directed the officials to leave no stone unturned in giving a satisfactory puja experience to the devotees.The CM took first hand account of the arrangements at a meet at the Delhi Secretariat attended by the Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia, Irrigation and Flood Control Minister, Revenue Minister, all MLAs and the Chief Secretary apart from other senior officials of the Delhi Government.Mr Kejriwal asked the officials to make it a point to make all arrangements in time and up to the mark. He asked them to ensure that the people offering Puja on the occasion should not face any problem. ''Adequate number of doctors and ambulance should also be deployed at the ghats to handle any kind of medical emergency, apart from other emergency services,'' Mr Kejriwal instructed.The Chief Minister was apprised that the coordination meeting for a smooth Chhath Puja has been done in which the Revenue department, Delhi Police, Delhi Jal Board, IFC and other stakeholders hadparticipated, an official statement said.Mr Kejriwal also went through the details of the Ghats constituency-wise all over the city and deliberated with the MLAs and officials over them. This year, the Chhath Puja supported by the government would be performed at 457 ghats as compared to last year's 268 ghats. The officials informed that all the ghats would be ready in 2-3 days time.Mainly a festival of Bihar , Chhath will be celebrated across Northern India on October 26. UNI SY SHK 1946
