National Human Rights Commission (NRHC) today directed Bihar government to pay a compensation of Rs 25,000 to JD (U) leader who was badly thrashed by police personnel and was also implicated in a false case in 2013. NHRC swung into action after former district JD (U) secretary Narendra Kumar Singh Kushwaha had informed the human rights body about the incident with evidences. Mr Kushwaha was in jail when he had complained to NHRC against police brutality. Taking serious note of the incident, NHRC had directed Bihar government to probe the matter promptly. When Police Superintendent (CID) Sarveshwar Prasad Shukla investigated the matter, he found that the police had implicated him in the false case and arrested him by accusing him of possessing four live cartridges.MORE UNI XC DH
