8 drown as boat capsizes in Yamuna in UP

At least eight labourers drowned after their boat capsized in Yamuna river in this district of Uttar Pradesh today.Police sources here said the boat, carrying 30 labourers from Baghpat to Haryana, was overloaded. As many as eight bodies were fished and many others feared dead. Fifteen labourers were rescued by people.The incident occurred near Katha ghat under Kotwali police station area of the district.Senior officials have rushed to the spot and were supervising the rescue operation.
