All medical collages in Bihar to have eye bank by end of this year: Nitish

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today announced that the state government would establish eye banks in all medical colleges in Bihar by December this year. Mr Kumar while addressing a function organised by Dadhichi Dehdan Samiti here on the occasion of International Organ Donation Day, announced that all medical colleges in Bihar would have eye banks by end of this year. It would help those who were in need of eye transplantation to have a view of this beautiful world, he remarked. Chief Minister said second round of reforms in health sector in Bihar would begin soon and people would not have to go outside for treatment.Kidney transplantation had already been started at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Science (IGIMS) and it would also be started in Patna Medical College and Hospital, he said, adding that liver transplantation would also begin at IGIMS by end of this year. "State government would launch massive awareness campaign to eradicate dowry system and child marriage from the society on October 2 this year", Mr Kumar said, adding that both the evils of the society had to be removed for creating healthy atmosphere for prosperity and development.UNI KKS RN 2123
