The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee today urged Governor N N Vohra to ensure transparent working of the State Public Service Commission.Lambasting the PDP-BJP for its alleged criminal silence on the messy affairs of JKPSC, the J&K Congress urged the Governor to immediately intervene in the matter to ensure an independent, impartial and transparent probe into the functioning of commission. In a joint statement issued here, the senior Congress leaders criticised the state government for maintaining criminal silence over the allegations of large scale irregularities and illegalities. The recent disclosures of alleged tempering and forgery duly authenticated by the FSL have prima facie established the commission of offence and the silence and inaction to lodge FIR by the commission speaks volumes about its functioning, said the leaders. They alleged that there is large scale resentment among the citizens, who are interested in fairness, transparency and accountability of the institution of PSC, which deals with the career of youth in the state, who put in their hard labour, but feel frustrated by such reports of bungling in the functioning of the Commission. The members demanded that an FIR should be immediately lodged and taken to logical conclusion at the earliest and a probe should be ordered into all such allegations in the recent past, besides removal of such guilty members or officials found involved, who should be booked under law, to establish the credibility and ensure the functioning of the commission, as per spirit of the law and the Constitution.
