NIFT student arrested for hacking Institute website

Local Police arrested an eighth semester NIFT student last evening for hacking the official website of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and tampering with the marks-sheets, police said here today.Kangra Sub Divisional Police officer Surinder Sharma told UNI this evening that NIFT Director S Balasidartha had lodged a complaint with police today that the official website of the Institute was allegedly hacked and the marks-sheets of students were tampered with.SDPO said that police registered a case under section 419, 420, 465, 467, 468, 120B IPC 65, 66C, 66D Information Technology Act and started investigation.Sharma said that police during investigation seized laptop and mobile of a 8th semester student of NIFT identified as Alok Kumar son of Sukh Lal a resident of Muzaffarpur Bihar and arrested him for hacking the official website and tampering with his personal marks-sheet and of other students.He said that investigation was in progress.
