New Delhi/Kathmandu | Monday, May 8 2017 IST
Nepal today decided to become part of the Chinese initiative 'One belt,One Road, which aims to enhance the traditional trade routes from China through India, Central Asia and Europe.

A Nepalese Cabinet meeting this afternoon decided to sign a framework agreement ahead of the OBOR conference slated to be held in Beijing on May 14-15, said a report in the Kathmandu Post.

According to officials at Foreign Ministry, Foreign Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong will ink the framework on Thursday.

India has great reservations against the initiative as it argues that one part of the project passes through Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir, which has thrown up a sovereignty issue for it.UNI NAZ SB 2145
