Terming her expulsion from the Congress party as 'illegal', former Delhi Commisison for women chief Barkha Shukla Singh today said she would go for a legal recourse against it.''The said expulsion done by a committee of the Delhi PCC is illegal. I will go for a legal recourse against it,''Mr Barkha Singh, who was expelled from the Congres party for six years for "anti-party activities ', said.Launching a vehement attack against Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Barkha Singh said ,''Rahul Gandhi has again proved to the people of this great nation that he considers the Congress party to be his family run feifdom.I want to know how does voicing opinion about Rahul Gandhi amount to anti-party activities ? I have not said anything against the Congress party. Is Rahul Gandhi trying to say that Congress is Gandhi family and the Gandhi family is the Congress?''She said that she would file a petition in the election commission against Rahul's election as Congress vice president.''Even the party has not held elections for the last 17 years and Rahul Gandhi has been purposely delaying elections in the organisaiton.Rahul Gandhi was not elected to the position of Congress vice president . I will be filing a petition in the election commission,''she said.Noting that in the current political scenario, the role of the Opposition has become more important, she said that the Congress has not been able to play the role of a strong opposiiton due to "mental and political incapacity" of Rahul Gandhi.''I urge and call upon all like minded Congress leaders and workers to contribute towards Nation building by giving the country a strong Opposiiton , rid the party of this intellectually bankrupt man named Rahul Gandhi who doies not know the difference between Ram and Rahim. There is no dearth of talent in the Congress party and let's not ridiule ourselves any further by rallying around a brainless man. We have enough seasoned and experienced leaders who are fit to run the party,''Ms Barkha Singh said.Earlier, cracking the whip on the senior leader, a day after her resignation from the party's women's wing and her attack on party Vice-President Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken, the Congress today expelled her from the party for six years.A statement from the Delhi Congress said the party has decided to expel Barkha Shukla Singh from the party for six years ''for undertaking anti-party activities just before the MCD elections''.''Disciplinary Committee of the DPCC, in its meeting dated April 21, has unanimously decided to expel Ms Barkha Singh for period of six years from the party for undertaking anti-party activities, just before the MCD elections. A resolution to this effect has been passed,'' a statement by the Delhi Congress said. The four-member Disciplinary Committee, comprises former Delhi Minister Narender Nath, Abha Chaudhary (former President Delhi Mahila Congress), Mahmood Zia and Congress leader Surender Kumar.Ms Singh had yesterday quit as chief of the women's wing of the Delhi Congress. ''Congress party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Ajay Maken have only used the issue of empowerment of women and women security to gather votes. The issue means nothing to them." Ms Singh said."In the current organisation, where I myself am unsafe, how will I empower women in that organisation? That is why I hereby resign from the post of President of Delhi Mahila Congress,''she said. Ms Singh is the second senior Delhi Congress leader to quit the party, ahead of MCD polls. Earlier, former Delhi Congress chief Aravinder Singh Lovely had quit the Congress and joined the BJP.UNI AR ADG 1536
