With an aim to ensure timely attendance, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today ordered biometric attendance for all Government employees and declared at least 3000 shops selling generic medicines should be opened at the earliest.
CM also announced revival of all co-operative societies and taken initiatives to increase of wheat purchase target from 40 lakh meteric tonne to 80 lakh meteric tonnes.
These directives were given during a review meeting of various departments held here today."The work culture in Government offices should improve. The employees should come to office in time. To ensure this bio-metric attendance system should be introduced in all the Government departments," he said and added that CCTVs should also be installed in rooms so that those employees who play truant could be brought to books.CM talked in detail about his experience during inspection in government departments. "I was shocked to see the condition of files. The files should be properly maintained. If possible the Government work should be digitalised," he said. He reviewed work in different departments including health, education, agriculture, infrastructure development and home. "The Centre has launched a scheme to provide cheap medicines to masses, but that benefit has not reached people of Uttar Pradesh because the previous government has not opened enough medical shops selling medicines on generic name," Mr Yogi said and asked officials to open at least 3000 such shops across Uttar Pradesh, so that benefit can reach masses. "I know health services are pathetic in UP. Doctors do not come to hospitals. This Government is committed to provide best possible medi-care to patients and would ensure that doctors attend hospitals," he said. When his attention was drawn towards delay in construction of houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Mr Yogi said as people are not able to get advantage of this scheme, the project should now be monitored by the Housing Department. Earlier, Urban Development department was monitoring this project. CM also announced revival of all the co-operative societies saying with the death of co-operative system farmers are not getting quality seeds. These societies can galavanise farm sector. He asked Principal Secretary, Co-operative to revive these co-operative societies at the earliest. He also enquired about wheat purchase centres and asked officials to revise the wheat target from 40 lakh meteric tonnes to 80 lakh meteric tonnes. "Transparency should be maintained in wheat purchase. Officials should ensure that money should directly reach the bank accounts of the farmers," CM said. Besides, CM also reviewed state's preparedness about drought and floods and said in case of any discrepancy officials should be held responsible. "DM and SSP would be held guilty if reports of illegal mining comes from any part of the state," he said. He also asked officials to prepare DPR for construction of metro in Allahabad, Meerut, Agra,Gorakhpur and Jhansi districts.UNI MB JW ADG 2005
