Ex-Assam minister dead

Former Assam minister Dilip Saikia Sonowal today breathed his last at a private hospital in Kolkata. He was undergoing treatment for kidney ailments at Kolkata for a long time. Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal has expressed deep condolence at the death of the former minister. Asom Gana Parishad president and state minister Atul Bora has also condoled the death. The AGP, of which a senior member Sonowal was, has announced three days mourning and flew its party flag in halfmast.

Sonowal was a minister in the first AGP ministry in the state and a prominent leader of the Assam Agitation. UNI SG AKM 1738
