Mr Arjun Panditrao Khotkar, sitting MLA from Jalna constituency in Marathwada region of Maharashtra, was today inducted in BJP-SS led government as a state minister.
A-54-year-old loyalist and staunch supporter of Shiv Sena, Mr Khotkar graduated in commerce. Born on January1, 1962 in village Wakhadi Wadgaon in Jalna district, he was elected four times in state assembly election from Shiv Sena in 1990, 1995, 2004 and 2014 from Jalna constituency.
In 1999 and 2009 state elections,he lost to Kailash Goryental (Congress) and Rajesh Tope (NCP) from Jalna and Ghansavangi constituency respectively.
Mr Khotkar became first time MLA in 1990 when he was just 25 and since then he worked hard for spreading Shiv Sena reaches in his district.
He fought for cause of farmers in the district and undertook water conservation work under the scheme 'Shivjalkranthi' and completed its works on 300 project in the district. Sena appointed him as Marathwada region coordinator for the scheme in the region and his devotion towards water conservation was appreciated by Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray.
