The 31st foundation day of Shiv Sena in Marathwada region was celebrated with enthusiasm today, with the party leaders launching the 'Hindu Janjagran Saptha (Hindu Awareness Week) at the Kranthi Chowk after garlanding to statue of Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji.
It was 31 years ago that Sena established its first 'Shaka' (office) in Aurangabad of Marathwada and later it spread its roots in other parts of the region.
On this momentous occasion, Sena leaders and workers from the city, led by MP Chandrkant Khaire, Sampark Pramukh Vinod Ghosalkar, Mayor Traimbak Tupe, MLA Sanjay Shirsat and district chief AmbadasDanve among others, gathered this morning at Kranthi Chowk and participated in a motorcycle rally which was taken out after paying tribute to Shivaji Maharaj displaying saffron flags.
The rally passed through Ajab Nagar, Piathan Gate, Gulmandi, Citi Chowk, Sarafa, Gandhi Chowk, Chelipaura, Labour Colony, Hudco Corneor, Bajarang Chowk, Baliram Pati High School before culminatingat TV centre after paying tributes to the statue of Sambhaji Maharaj.
Later, they formally announced the launch of the 'Hindu Janjagran Saptha', party sources said.UNI VKB SS SM1935
