Jawan, villager injured in IED blast in Chhattisgarh

Two persons, including a police jawan and a villager, were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast triggered by Maoists in the district's Antagarh-Orcha road today. Aiming to target security personnel, the rebels after planting the landmine, had blocked the road by cuttingdown a roadside tree near the Mavli turning. They had also put up Naxal banner and poster. The Maoists triggered the blast inflicting serious injury to a police constable Preetam Poyam and a villagerwhen a patrolling team reached the spot and tried to remove the obstruction with the help of the local villagers. After being provided immediate medical care at Antagarh Hospital, the injured jawan was airlifted to state capital Raipur.UNI XC SS SB VN2119
