Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) today demanded immediate arrest of JNU students, including Umar Khalid, who are slapped with sedition charges, and action against them.In a statement, HJS national spokesman Ramesh Shinde said action must be taken against Umar Khalid for sedition irrespective of whether he is a ''terrorist''.''Umar Khalid, who is trying to garner compassion under the pretext of religious discrimination to conceal his anti-national activities, and his other colleagues must be arrested immediately and a stringent action should be taken against them,'' he demanded.Stating that the JNU issue was being purposefully painted as religious discrimination, he said anyone, irrespective of religious faith, trying to spread ideological terrorism in the nation, deserved to be stringently punished.Mr Shinde also alleged that there had been incidents in the JNU which proved that anti-national activities were encouraged in the university.''If the poison of anti-nationalism getting spread throughout the nation were not checked in time, the emergency situation would prevail in the nation. If such anti-national actions are handled in a mild manner when the danger of ISIS is on the rise, it will result in a perilous situation in the nation,'' he said, adding, if peace was to prevail in the nation in the true sense, the anti-national elements in the nations should be rooted out in time.Khalid is one among the five students who had allegedly raised anti-nation slogans in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) few days ago and police have slapped sedition charges against them. While JNSU president Kanhaiaya Kumar has been arrested, others were yet to be arrested. Khalid and other accused had reportedly surfaced in the JNU campus on February 21.UNI AKM SS AJ 2330
