2 cops hurt in Naxal firing in Chhattisgarh

Two Chhattisgarh police constables were injured when Naxals opened fire on them near Gatapar police station in insurgency-affected Rajnandgaon district today.

Shanker Mandavi and Suman Yadav were on patrol duty about 200 mtrs away from the Gatapar police station when they were fired upon by a small action group of armed Naxals this morning, Superintendent of Police P Sunderaj said. After being provided first aid at Khairagarh public health centre, both the injured personnel were rushed to Bhilai where their condition is stated to be stable.
