Stepping up the immediate support, Central Food Technology Research Institute will be supplying more ready-to-eat food packets to rain ravaged Chennai and surrounding areas in Tamil Nadu.The institute said today that the CSIR-CFTRI has already started delivering food packets since yesterday and it would be stepped up from tonight.The products being despatched in the first trench are 6,000 chapattis with tomato chutney and pickle, 10,000 portions of Imli poha, 11,000 buns and biscuits, 5000 unit packs of corn flakes and 25,000 bottles of drinking water.The production of disaster management foods will continue in CFTRI for the next few days till such time the situation is under control.The institute has earlier delivered foods catering to emergency requirements during floods at Uttarakand, Tsunami disaster and the Kargil war, the official statement stated.UNI BSP RS TS CJ AJ 2325
