The Army today denied a report against soon to be retired Military Secretary Lieutenant General Rajiv Bhalla of receiving bribe from a senior Army officer posted in Kolkata, hours after it was reported that the top officer has been asked to go on leave till he retires.

"Mil Secy on temp duty. Rejoining on Sep 18. Tweet false &malicious," the Army said in tweet through its official handle ADG PI-Indian Army.

Additional Director General Press Interface runs the twitter handle.

An English daily had reported through its authenticated twitter account that "Military Secretary Lt Gen Rajiv Bhalla has been asked to go on leave till retirement for allegedly receiving bribe from senior officer in Kolkata." More UNI MK AE RP1905

Dear sir,

Army top brasses are not holy cow, I had been in army for two decades, if any doubt in this high authority should prove the officer's integrity beyond doubt by convening a court of inquiry or any other committee to tell the civilians at whose cost we receive our monthly salary, we stand answerable to them
