B B Nayak, multi-Guinness and Limca records holder, to attempt 3 world records

B B Nayak, holder of 7 Guinness and 12 Limca records in physical endurance, fitness, gymnastics and martial arts, is all set to attempt 3 world records in a single day. A Navi Mumbaikar, B B Nayak (50) will attempt the records back-to-back, within a 30-minute span, at Airoli Gurudwara Hall here tomorrow.The records include the most number of 'Alternate Squat Thrusts' in a minute, most number of'One leg martial arts kicks' in a minute and maximum 'Squats' in a minute.Speaking on his attempt, he said, "This hat-trick of records at one go will surely motivate the young generation to pick up some lessons of fitness."His last record was 1, 000 sit-ups (crunches) in 15 minutes created at Sidhivinayak temple, Mumbai on Maghi Utsav in 2010. For the past five years, he has been busy with his biography tagged 'Man on Fire'written by Man Booker Prize shortlisted British author Stephen Kelman. The book is being published by Bloomsbury, which will be released on August 13, 2015 in 28 countries. Speaking on the book, he said, "The 5 year lay-off from my record attempt spree has been quite traumatic, though I have never missed a single day practice session during this period in an endeavour totry some more feats. But destiny had something else in store. Soon after my last record in 2010, I was approached by Man Booker Prize shortlisted British author Stephen Kelman, who saw my documentary onBBC Channel V and was enthused to make a film on me which later resulted in shaping up my fictionalised biography tagged 'Man On Fire'."This adventure sportsman and commando trainer to Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Shakti Teams of Central Railway follows a strict vegetarian diet with more sprout and pulses for the last 30 years.
