Speeding up the effort to build a world class capital city for the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh, the state government has issued Gazette Notification bringing 58 mandals under preview of Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA).
An official statement today said the government issued notification, brining 58 mandals-29 in Krishna district and 29 in Guntur district-under the preview of CRDA.
As many as 11 mandals in Krishna district 17 mandals in Guntur were completely brought under the purview of CRDA. Tulluru, Lingayapalem, Uddandapalem and Velagapudi villages, located on the bank of the River Krishna, were also brought into the CRDA fold.
As many as 7,068 square kilometers covering Krishna and Guntur district were brought into the CRDA while the Capital city would be build 122 square KMs, according to the notification.
Vijayawada Urban and Rural, Ibrahimpatnam, Penamaluru, Tadepalli, Gannavaram mandals in Krishna district and Tadepalli, Mangalagiri, Tenali and Duggirala were some of the important mandals, which were brought under the preview of the CRDA. Each mandal comprises 10 to 15 villages.
The VGTM Urban development authority was revoked and CRDA was constituted with 11 members, headed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. UNI DP/VV RSA RK2250
