Checking drive fetches Rs.2.85 Cr.

A massive ticket checking drive was conducted on ticketless travelers all over the Vijayawada Division, during the month of July, 2014, under the supervision of N.V.Satyanarayana,Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Vijayawada Division, covering all Passenger and Express trains passing through the sections in the Division.

A railway press release here today said that as a result of these checks, 96,388 cases of passengers travelling without tickets and carrying un-booked luggage were detected and an amount of Rs.2,85,19,000 was realized.

As many as 101 Passengers who failed to pay the Railway dues, were prosecuted. Cleanliness Drive was also conducted on all over the division during the month of July,2014, in which 2,274 cases of littering in the Railway premises were detected and an amount of Rs.4,54,800 was realized from the offenders.

Ticket checking staff collected in the month of JULY, 2014 in trains and at Stations in the Division an amount of Rs. 1,75,92,891 by way of difference of fares of old and new fares from the passengers who already booked their tickets in advance.
