Hindi poet & humourist Hullad Moradabadi dies of cardiac arrest

Eminent Hindi poet, humourist and satirist Hullad Moradabadi died of cardiac arrest this afternoon, family sources said.

The end of the renowned litterateur came at around 1600 hours, his son Navneet told UNI.

Susheel Kumar Chadha nown as Hullad Moradabadi had authored several Hindi books including 'Itni uchi mat chodo', 'kya karegi chandni', 'Ye ander ki bat hai', 'Triveni' and 'Hullad ka Hullad.'

The 72-year old Moradabadi is survived by widow, two daughters and a son.

Born on May 29,1942 at Gujrawala, Pakistan, Moradabadi wrote 'Itni uchi mat chodo,' 'kya karegi chandni,' 'Ye ander ki bat hai,' Triveni, 'Tathakathit bhagwano ke naam (awarded),' ' Hullad ka Hullad,:Hazam ki hazamat and' 'Aacha hai per kabhi kabhi.'

During his lifetime, Moradabadi was bestowed with the Kalashri award, Thitholi award, T.O.Y.P award, Mahakavi nirala samman, Attahas shikhar samman, Kaka hatarasi award and the Hasya ratna award.

He has several records produced by H.M.V and T.Series and had visited Hong Kong, Bangkok,, Canada, Australia, London, Manchester and US for various Kavi Sammelans.

The poet, who had not been keeping well of late, was admitted to the Kokilaben Hospital last month.
