Playback singer Chitra chosen for Sangeetha Ratnam award

Ace playback singer Padmashree K S Chitra has been chosen for maiden Sangeetha Ratnam Puraskaram for her contribution to film industry.

A jury comprising scriptwriter John Paul selected her for the awrad instituted by Kerala Mappila Kala Academy in memory of eminent music director K Raghavan Master, Patron Kanesh Punur told reporters here today.

The award carrying a purse of Rs 50,001, citation and plaque will be presented to her at a function to be held at Thalassery Municipal Townhall on February 23, he added. UNI PCH VV RSS1425 NNNN
