CB CID police unearths counterfeit currency racket

The counterfeit currency prevention wing of the Crime Branch CID Police has unearthened a counterfeit currency racket and arrested a six member gang and looking after one more here.

CB CID police sourcers said here today, acting on a tip off, a CCP unit of the CB CID police rounded up three persons at Central Bus stand here on the wee hours of yesterday, when they moving around the area in a suspecious manner.

They were identified as Keethar Mohammed (57) of Coimbatore, Peter (48)of Kuniamuthur-Coimbatore and Muthu (40) of Vadipatti-Madurai.

Priliminary enquiries with them revealed that their associates of four others were stayed at a quarters of the Slub Clearance board Colony Thanjavur.

A police party went to Thanjavur and rounded up the particular house, on seeing the police party oen of them managed to escape from the scene.

On the examination, Police arrested Sabir Mubarak (53) of Gujarat, Abdul (69) of Palkhat-Kerala and Ravichandran (49)of Andhanakurichi under Tiruvaiyaru police limits of Thanjavur district. Police also seized 85 numbers of Rs 500 counterfeit currency notes, a Computer, printer, copier, a paper bundle, andother acceesaries meant for printing of the counter feit currency notes.

All the six were produced before Judicial Magistrate VI here, the magistrate Ms Nagalakhshmi who remanded them to judicial custody. UNI RV RKM BM2214 NNNN
