UP BJP to distribute booklets on Assam violence, Coalgate

Uttar Pradesh BJP will launch a mass awareness programme by distributing literature related to the Assam violence and coal block allotment. This was decided during the meeting of the state office-bearers chaired by the state party president Dr Lakshmikant Bajpai here today. It was also decided that the party will felicitate the old workers belonging to the days of Jansangh and district presidents of the BJP before 1990 on the birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay on September 25. The activists of the BJYM will donate their blood while activists of Mahila Morcha will sow 500 plants in every assembly segment. The state BJP chief said that results of the membership drive has been very encouraging and it surpassed the target. "The people have deep anguish over the issues like Assam violence, coal scam, power crisis, deteriorating law and order and Muslim appeasement and this has helped to surpass the membership target" he said. "The party will also launch a campaign to raise the funds for the party." he said. Dr Bajpai said that party will soon provide toll free helpine numbers to get in touch with the problems of the people. The meeting was attended by the former state party chief Om Prakash Singh, state general secretary organisation Rakesh Jain, state election officer and vice president Swatnra Deo Singh, Shiv Pratap Shukla, Vindhyawasini Kumar, Narendra Singh, Vinod Pandey, Ashutosh Tandon and others.
