Odisha has 17 airstrips and 16 helipads. The state government had identified nine locations in the state to be connected through civil aviation.

It had been proposed to develop Greenfield Airports in five location such as Rayagada, Paradeep, Dhamara, Angul and Kalinganagar. Up-gradation of four existing airfields namely Gopalpur, Jharsuguda, Barbil and Rourkela had also been proposed.
