Secondary Education Secretary arrested in UP for irregularities

Police has arrested Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board Director Sanjay Mohan for indulging in irregularities in the online examination of Teachers Eligibility Test in the state. The director was arrested from his Nishatganj residence last night by the police of Ramabai Nagar district. He would be produced in the court today. Police sources here said a case under section 420 and 120(B) of the IPC and 7/13 of the Anti-corruption Act have been imposed against the official. The official's name came up after five youths were arrested by the Rambail Nagar police on December 31 and seized from them Rs 12 crore. The youths had disclosed that the money is being taken to Lucknow to be given to the director. The police had already issued non-bailable warrant against the officer. The Allahabad High Court had already stayed the TET exams of around 78,000 students in the state after the disclosure of the racket. UNI MB AE VP1238 NNNN
