Expressing grief on the death of veteran actor and Producer-Director Dev Anand, who died of Cardiac arrest in London last night, Aadharshila, a group of journalists, writers and artists, described his death as the end of the Anand Era. In his condolence message on the death of Dev Anand, Pradeep Sardana, president of Aadharshila and Senior Film-TV critic and Journalist, said, there was a time, when the Anand family - Chetan Anand, Dev Anand and Vijay Anand, the three brothers played an important role in Bollywood. But now, with the death of Dev Sahab, this whole Anand Era has come to an end. Paying tribute to the veteran actor and producer director, who gave to Indian cinema memorable films like Guide and Hare Rama Hare Krishna , Mr Sardana said, Dev Anand was the only actor of Bollywood who had been working for the 65 years with the same energy and spirit, and was not tired till the last moment of his life. I salute such enthusiasm, even at the age of 88. Dev Sahab was born for the cinema, and in real terms, his films were his family. There has been no one who left untouched by the charismatic and enlightened personality of this ever active and evergreen man of the Indian Film Industry. I believe that the memories and works of Dev Sahab will remain evergreen, Sardana said. Bollywood s evergreen star, who made a mark for himself as a debonair hero in the 1960s and later as a filmmaker in Bollywood career, died in London earlky this morning. The 88-year-old Dev Anand, who had gone to London a fortnight ago for rest and medical check-up, died after a massive cardiac arrest in his hotel room at 0330 hrs (IST) with his son Suneil by his side.
