46th CSI annual convention from tomorrow

The 46th annual convention of Computer Society of India will be held at Ahmedabad Management Association complex here tomorrow. According to Nikhil Jain, vice-chairman of Computer Society of India (Ahmedabad Chapter), the three-day event is centred around ICT4U theme, that would be creating a unique platform for thought leadership among government, industry and academia, through exchange of knowledge, ideas and best practices with technical sessions, tutorials and panels, awards presentations and a principal IT exhibition feature. The Department of Science & Technology, Government of Gujarat, ISRO and GIL are supporting this convention. The event is also being sponsored by SIS, Microsoft, vmWare, IBM, TCS, Hitachi and CMC. It will attract eminent speakers including Mr Sam Pitroda, Mr Chandrashekhar, Mr R Ramanan (CMC Limited), Dr D B Phatak (IIT, Mumbai), Mr Ravi Saxena, Mr Sunil Kakkad (chairman and managing director of Sai Info System) and Mr Hemal Patel (chief executive officer of Elitecore Technologies) among others. This year the topics to be discussed during the convention include grid and cloud computing, entrepreneurship, VC funding, ICT roadmap, emerging technologies, mobile computing, societal applications and IT Security. A key highlight of the event is where CSI would be distributing IT Excellence award and CSI Nihilent e-Governance award for 2011. UNI HT SSS SB BM1751
