BJP demands removal of Dikshit for CWG scam

Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party vice-president Vijay Jolly today demanded the removal of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for alleged corruption in conduct of the Commonwealth Games.
Welcoming the removal of CWG Organising Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi from his post by Union Sports Minister Ajay Maken on Monday, Mr Jolly said sacking of Mr Kalmadi alone was ''miscarriage of justice'' and it should be followed with the removal of the Delhi Chief Minister.
''CBI has enough evidence to prove corruption in CWG. In fact this has forced the UPA government to sack Mr Kalmadi and OC Secretary General Lalit Bhanot. But this is not enough,'' Mr Jolly, who is also Delhi BJP spokesperson, said.
''But it is surprising that the main culprit Sheila Dikshit, responsible for handling and spending more than Rs 28,000 crore on various games projects, is still free. She is equally to be blamed along with Kalmadi,'' the BJP leader added. Mr Jolly demanded that the CBI probe into the alleged financial irregularities in the October 3-14, 2010 Games, include all the top Delhi bureaucrats and the role of the Chief Minister be thoroughly investigated.
