Nagesh Pydah assumes charge of OBC chief

Mr Nagesh Pydah today assumed charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of state-run Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC).

Born in 1952, Mr Pydah is a commerce graduate from University of Madras and an Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. He also holds a Diploma in Money Market and Forex Trading from New York University.

Mr Pydah started his career in 1973 as a Probationary Officer in Bank of India (BoI). During his career spanning over 37 years in the banking industry, he has had extensive exposure to all facets of banking in India and abroad, the Bank said in a statement. OBC currently has business mix of over Rs 2,15,000 crores with a pan-India network of 1,573 branches, 33 extension counters and one representative office abroad.
