Several people, cops injured in clash in Kinalur

Several people including policemen were injured in a clash between security personnel and local people at Kinalur industrial area in this district of Kerala today.
Police said they were forced to lathicharge and burst teargas shells to disperse an unruly mob on agitation against a survey for the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation Park Road development, after the mob resorted to stone pelting on the security personnel.
Many people, including Thamarassery Deputy Suprintendent of Police Kuberan Namboodiri were injured in the clash.
The injured Deputy Superintendent was undergoing treatment in Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, police said.
Stating that the situation was now under control, police said large contingent of security men were camping at the locality.
