State conference of Swecha held

Swecha, a Free Software community today held its first state conference in the city with the aim of bringing together various committed free software activists from different sections.
The primary objective of the conference was intended to integrate researchers, academicians, students, software professionals, entrepreneurs and other social groups for promotion of free software in the state and intervene in social problems caused by the use of proprietary software and to start a magazine 'Freedom Matters,'a release here said. The conference unanimously elected an Executive committee of 33 members from among the delegates representing various groups. The Executive Committee elected Dr L Pratap Reddy as the Working Chairman and Mr Huvan Krishna as the General Secretary for Swecha along with other Vice-Presidents and Secretaries.
