Vice Admiral Chauhan takes salute of Beating Retreat rehearsal

Western Naval Command, Chief of Staff, Vice Admiral Pradeep Chauhan took the salute of the Indian Navy Western Command's Beating the Retreat full-dressed rehearsal here today.

The parade, which held in fron of the city's iconic Gateway of India and Taj Hotel, was led by the Western Naval Command, who played a flawless repretoire of Hindi and Western tunes including the effervescent ''Tequila'' to the piognant ''Abide with Me''.

The highlight of the show went to the Navy Marcos (Marine Commandos), who slid down from a hovering Seaking helicopter right in front of an enthusiastic audience. The air-arm of the Navy also conducted a fly-past with 'Chetak' and 'SeaKing' helicopters.

The end of the show was marked by the playing of the national anthem followed by two flares then a light show on the warships that outlined their silouettes in golden light.
