Playback singer Sainoj passes away

Malayalam playback singer T T Sainoj died at a private hospital after a brief illness here this afternoon.

The 32-two-year-old Sainoj was admitted to the hospital on November 20 after he was diagnosed with leukemia. The end came at 1500 hrs, family sources told UNI.

A bachelor, Sainoj is survived by his parents, brother and sister.

The young singer who was spotted after winning the multi-round reality show 'Gandharvasangeetham,' made his debut as a playback singer in the film 'War and Love' in 2004, with a semi-classical song 'Kanna thedunna...' composed by Mohan Sithara. He last rendered a song in film 'Chemistry' and his songs in the recently released 'Ivar Vivahitharayal' was a big hit. Though he worked only for few films, including one Telugu film, Sainoj promised lot more in his short career. Sainoj learned the nuances of music at Chittoor Government College where he did his graduation and post-graduation. He had topped in the light music and ghazals at the all-India Akashvani music competition and won a Central Government scholarship for Carnatic music.
