Former MP Justice Lodha passes away

Former MP and Guwahati High Court retired Chief Justice Guman Mal Lodha passed away in Ahmedabad this evening.

He was 83.

He was not keeping well for sometime, family sources said here.

A former Rajasthan High Court Judge, Lodha was among those who propounded and promoted the concept of Lok Adalats, for speedy justice to needy people, about four decades ago.

After retiring as Chief Justice, Guwahati High Court, Justice Lodha was elected to Lok Sabha from Pali thrice on a BJP ticket.

He was also elected to Rajasthan Assembly in early 70s.
