Kolhapur | Saturday, Feb 9 2008 IST
Samajwadi Party (SP) MP and actress Jayaprada today said the recent violence in Mumbai and the rest of Maharashtra against the North Indians was for political gains.
Talking to reporters here, Jayaprada, without naming Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), said The attack on North Indian people was an attempt to gain political publicity.
The poor people from other states shift to Mumbai for their livelihood, but these people were targetted in the violence, which is condemnable, she said, adding the issue will be raised in Parliament.
Earlier, Jayaprada visited the Mahalaxmi temple here and had a 'darshan' of the presiding deity.
